American scientists have found that drinking two glasses of water before meals helps to early saturation and lower calorie intake, which helps to lose weight, says EurekAlert!.
A study conducted by the staff of Virginia Polytechnic Institute and attended by 48 people aged 55 to 75 years, divided into two groups. During the survey they used the same low-calorie foods. At the same time, volunteers from the experimental group before eating drinking about 480 milliliters of pure water, and the control group did not.
It was found that participants who drank water before a meal consumed by 75-90 kcal lower than controls at every meal. As a result, after 12 weeks of the experiment the average weight loss in the experimental group was more than seven pounds against the parent of five kilograms in the control.
